OBITUARY Pilot Mountain

Mr. Delbert F. Simmons age 85 of Atlanta, Georgia passed away at Dekalb Medical Center on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Delbert was born in Stokes County on January 29, 1925 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Evy Noy and Lular Simmons. He was of the Baptist faith. Delbert served in the US Navy during WWII. He loved gardening and had a passion for antiques. He is survived by one son, Delbert Ray Simmons of Atlanta, Georgia, one sister Julie Faye Russ of Longwood, NC, Four brothers, Bill Simmons of McLeansville, NC, Gene Simmons of Pleasant Garden, NC and Delano Simmons and Daniel Simmons both of Summerfield, NC and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by five sisters, Exie Mabe, Neva Rierson, Louise Rierson, Lucy Rierson, Linda Milliken and two brothers Jay Simmons, Raybon Simmons. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Howell-Nelson Funeral Chapel of Pilot Mountain with burial to follow at Simmons Family Cemetery in Stokes County, NC.
