Traditional Funeral

A traditional funeral normally consists of a service which includes the viewing of the deceased and a visitation period in which the family receives friends who express their condolences. The body is present (normally in a casket) and is normally held in the funeral home, or a church. The funeral normally takes place at the funeral home chapel or a church of the family's choice. The funeral concludes with the committal service at the burial site.

Graveside Service

Funeral services are held at the gravesite where the body will be buried, or a mausoleum where the body will be entombed above ground. The family may also have a viewing of the deceased and a visitation period in which the family receives friends who express their condolences. The visitation normally takes place at the funeral home or a church of the family's choice.
